Polycarbonate (PC) is a special kind of material. PC is also known as brandnames "Lexan" and "Makrolon", that is a reference to the raw material used for the production.

A virtually unbreakable material for the toughest environments Transparent polycarbonate (PC) has high clarity and good optical performance. It also has excellent temperature performance and good fire properties as the material is self-extinguishing. Transparent PC is well suited for thermoforming and/or machining. JAG Plastix has a wide portfolio of polycarbonate sheets, produced in the E.U. and complies with all regulations. Certificates will be sent on demand. These sheet are guaranteed for 10 years. 

Special resins are used when FA (food approval) or FR (flame retardant) characteristics are needed.

Polycarbonat sheet: applications

Polycarbonate is often used for glazing, where glass is too heavy, or can not be used for safety reasons, like in sportcentres, for balconies, around equipment / machines, doors and windows and in prisons. 

Polycarbonate is a suitable material to be used in demanding environments, like public spaces.

For polycarbonate in translucent and opaque colours the max thickness is 15mm, just like for PC-AR, PC-FA, PC-FR and coated sheet, except transparent hard coated polycarbonate, the latter is available in 20 mm.
